Happiness is Contagious

Sometimes, a friendly face and an ear-to-ear smile make a world of difference for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Western New York.

Elisabeth Weber is one of those smiling faces. She’s been volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House since 2011, and brightens the days of everyone she meets. You will find Elisabeth in our kitchen; just follow the wonderful aromas from her latest culinary creation.

I had a sick child so I know what it’s like to feel alone. Having support is so important. I heard about the Ronald McDonald House from friends. I called the House, came in for a tour and meeting with the House Manager. I was told that I was needed, so here I am.

The Ronald McDonald House is a good place to be; where you can see the dedication of the staff and volunteers. It’s a place where I have made friends. I was a nurse for 6 1/2 years and can see the benefits the Ronald McDonald House provides for the guest families and the impact it has on everyone who walks through the doors.

Even with the sadness it is a happy place to be. I hope my smile and the food I cook makes families feel comfortable,” says Elisabeth.
