How You Impact Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY
Since 1983, the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House has provided a “home away from home” for families with sick children receiving medical treatment in local hospitals. The Ronald McDonald House started out as a place to stay and all these years later it is so much more.
This past year has seen the expansion of our programs into the local community. Today, our programs include our Buffalo House on West Ferry Street, our Family Lounge located in Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH), and our Happy Wheels Cart which travels through the hallways of the OCH. Each of our programs aims to offer comfort and create a safe space for families to rest, rejuvenate and connect with other families facing similar crises.
It is because of your support, commitment, time and love that Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York (RMHC of WNY) has had the honor and privilege to serve these families. On behalf of our families and all of us at RMHC of WNY, we are tremendously grateful to each and every one of you.
As you know, RMHC of WNY relies solely on donations from our local community. Donations consist of good and services, volunteer time and monetary gifts. Each component is of great value and an integral piece of the puzzle that makes RMHC of WNY run.
Money donated by individuals, associations and businesses have helped RMHC of WNY positively impact thousands of children and their families. Your donations have contributed to making sure our House van is reliable and safe with new tires and regular oil changes. Our utility bills are always paid on time. Our grass is cut and the snow is removed. Because of you our guest families are transported back and forth to the hospital safely, after taking a hot shower and dressing in freshly laundered clothes. Because of you our guest families’ daily needs are met, so they can focus on the most important thing – their sick child.
Without your support, we would not be able to assist as many people as we do. Each year more than 500 families stay at our Buffalo House. We will be forever grateful for your generosity shown in our Share a Night campaign. This past year, thanks to you, over 720 nights were donated. No family is ever turned way if they are unable to contribute to their stay.
So to you, our thoughtful friends and generous donors, we extend our heartfelt appreciation.
