Buffalo, N.Y. (December 4, 2018) – Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western New York (RMHC of WNY) is pleased to announce the opening of their new guest suites. The two new suites join the compliment of the existing twelve private guest rooms and two guest suites in the West Ferry House.

The Buffalo Ronald McDonald House opened its door in Buffalo on December 8, 1983. “We are excited to celebrate this special milestone with the announcement and unveiling of our new guest suites. Recognizing the changing needs of our growing medical community and the needs of our guest families, the suites were designed to provide an environment more comfortable for our C-section moms, our long-term guests and in some cases the specialized needs of our young outpatient oncology guests, to mention a few. The addition of our new suites represents our vision to keep families with sick or injured children together and near the care and resources they need. This is a very exciting time for our Charity as we continue to strive and grow to meet the changing needs of our guest families”, says Sally Vincent, Executive Director, RMHC of WNY.

The new Delaware and Elmwood suites have been decorated in a nature theme and an eclectic artsy theme, respectively. The well-appointed suites have a private luxurious bathroom, a sitting area, and a bedroom with an occupancy of four guests. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, TVs in the sitting room and the bedroom, and more personal storage space.

“During this incredibly challenging period of their lives, we’re proud that we can offer a loving environment and resources for our guest families in a strong, supportive and caring environment that encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems,” adds Lynn Hughes, Director of Operations, RMHC of WNY.

The newly constructed house suites are a passion project imagined by longtime supporters and House partners. The construction was completed by Picone Construction; the combined efforts of M/E Engineering, P.C., Kideney Architects, P.C., and the generous contributions from Whiting Door Manufacturing Corp. and the John J Fiore Memorial Golf Tournament brought the dream to life; and 3 interior designers from the Interior Design Association of WNY decorated the suites.
