Adopt a Room
Unlike a hotel, every room at the Ronald McDonald House is different with those special decorative touches to make our House feel even more like home. Bring out your inner decorator and adopt a room at the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House, and bring your unique gift to our House.
The Adopt a Room program presents the opportunity for donors to sponsor a specific guest room in the Ronald McDonald House. Any individual, family, organization, business, corporation or foundation can participate in the Adopt a Room program.
It’s a great project for a large group of talented and creative people. It generally costs from $3,000 – $5,000 for a room adoption.
When a group adopts a room, they:
- Come up with a theme for the room
- Create a plan
- Do work such as repairing plaster, painting the walls, ceiling and woodwork
- Buy new furniture including tables, chairs and dressers
- Buy new accessories such as window treatments, lamps and decorative furnishings such as mirrors and pictures
Each decorating team must meet with our Yulanda McVay, our Operations and Guest Services Manager, to review the room theme and plans for decorating before shopping begins.
