17 Apr A Message from the Executive Director: RMHC OF WNY Hires New Marketing & Communications Director
Dear friends,
It is with great pleasure that I announce that Darlene Wilber has joined the RMHC of WNY team as our Marketing and Communications Director. She brings 20 years of marketing and communications experience to our organization. She recently moved back to Western New York after a decade of living in various areas of New York’s Southern Tier Region. Please join me in welcoming her to our team.
Prior to joining RMHC of WNY, Darlene served as the Communications, Research, and Grants Development Director for the Downtown Ithaca Alliance/Ithaca Business Improvement District where she helped that downtown community share its story and secure funds for economic development projects.
In Darlene’s new role, she will oversee all marketing and communication efforts for RMHC of WNY. She will work closely with our team to develop and execute marketing campaigns, create content for newsletters and reports, manage our website and social media accounts, and maintain relationships with media outlets.
Darlene is honored to join the RMHC of WNY team and help further awareness of its mission to provide support for families with sick and injured children who are receiving medical care.
“I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible organization in Western New York,” says Wilber. “I look forward to collaborating with the team to raise awareness of their vital work to support families during one of their most challenging times.”
Darlene holds a Bachelor of Science in Media/Communications from Medaille University. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America. Born and raised in Cheektowaga, Darlene currently resides in Clarence with her husband Christopher. They have four young children, one dog, and one cat. In her free time, Darlene enjoys attending sporting events, concerts, and theater performances; enjoying the region’s cuisine (she is a foodie); spending time outdoors; and taking the family on vacations.
Please join us in extending a heartfelt welcome to Darlene!
Warm regards,
Marianne Hoover,
Executive Director, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York
