Ronald McDonald House is under construction, making way for its Access for All project!
Access for All is a transformative project that will make our Ronald McDonald House accessible for everyone, allowing all families access to the heart of the home regardless of mobility limitations.
Construction for this ambitious undertaking started in 2024. The project renovations and enhancements include:
Main Entrance Accessibility: Ramp installation will occur at the House’s main entrance so all guests can enter through the home’s front door.
Common Area Enhancements: Adding an accessible bathroom to the first floor and replacing carpet for more effortless mobility from room to room. These enhancements will ensure that all areas of the House are accessible, providing families with mobility challenges the freedom to move around comfortably.
Updating the Kitchen: A hallway will be created to provide additional access to the rear of the House. The renovations in this area will foster an accessible, warm, and inviting atmosphere for guest families, volunteers, and staff.
Access to Additional Levels in the House: Removing the existing limited-use lift and shaft and installing a new full-sized elevator. In addition, a ramp will be installed on the second floor to give access to the front accessible bedroom suites completed in 2018.
This $1.2 million project is expected to be completed this year. Throughout the renovation process, our Ronald McDonald House will continue operating, providing vital programs and services to families during their medical journeys.
