Ronald McDonald Family Room

Located on the fifth floor of John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, our Ronald McDonald Family Room is a welcoming, home-like space for families steps away from their children in the hospital. Markedly different than its clinical surroundings, RMHC of WNY volunteers greet each visitor who passes through our door, offering comfort and a smile. Our Ronald McDonald Family Room provides families a break from the stress of the hospital environment where they can relax and have a complimentary beverage and snack.

This valuable service enables families to experience some restorative time for themselves without being far away from their child’s bedside. Our Ronald McDonald Family Room provides family members and other caregivers a place to rest and refresh and prepare for the emotional and mental demands of having a child in the hospital.  Our Ronald McDonald Family Laundry Room is located across the hall.

The Ronald McDonald Family Room at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m, and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m.

We invite all families with a patient in the hospital to visit our room for complimentary beverages and snacks.

We will continue to work with our hospital partner, Kaleida Health, to ensure the safety of our families, staff, and volunteers.

Our Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart visits patient floors on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room offers a range of complimentary amenities in a warm, home-like environment away from the beeps of the hospital setting.  Families will find:

Our Family Laundry

Located across the hall from our Ronald McDonald Family Room, our Family Laundry Room provides families with a space to wash their clothes or their child’s favorite blanket and toy.  Families will find:

• 24/7 Access to Laundry Room
• Complimentary Tide Pods

Ronald McDonald Hospitality Carts

Expanding our Signature Hospitality to the Bedsides of Hospitalized Children

A family with a seriously ill or injured child can spend long hours and many days at the hospital. At these times, simple comforts – a toothbrush, a cookie, or a toy to play with – can be hard to come by.

Our Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart travels room to room through the pediatric floors at John R. Oshei Children’s Hospital, offering patients and families complimentary beverages, snacks, and activities while enabling them to remain at their child’s bedside. Since its inception, the program has provided support and care to more than 7,730 children and families.
