RMHC is recognized as a public charity under Internal Revenue Code section 509(a) and has 501(c)(3) status. Donations to RMHC are deductible. Because we gather important information from our visitors, we have established this privacy policy to communicate our information gathering and dissemination practices. Types of Information Collected and How It Is Used
RMHC of WNY only gathers personal information, such as first and last names, home addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and credit card numbers, when you voluntarily submit them. If you make an online donation, personal information will be collected from you to process that donation. This applies to donations made directly to the RMHC of WNY and to donations made indirectly by purchasing tickets or other items associated with charitable events run for the benefit of RMHC of WNY.
By providing your personal information, you give RMHC of WNY permission to, and we may use personal information collected from you to send you information, such as RMHC of WNY updates or information regarding new Ronald McDonald House openings, fund-raising campaigns, or major grant initiatives. If you elect to opt-out of receiving such materials, we will not send them to you.
Security of Donor Information
Donor information is stored in a donor management database at RMHC of WNY. Access to the database is restricted to persons with a legitimate business need to access or modify the information contained therein.
Sharing of Personal Information
Companies and/or individuals may be engaged by, or volunteer with, RMHC of WNY to perform a variety of functions for the benefit of RMHC of WNY, including, without limitation, assisting with donation collection, providing technical services for our Internet sites, assisting with organizing and/or operating charitable events run for the benefit of RMHC of WNY, etc. Such companies or individuals may access personal information if RMHC of WNY deems such information helpful or necessary in performing such functions on behalf of, in connection with, or for the benefit of RMHC of WNY. However, these companies and/or individuals may use such personal information only to perform the function designated by RMHC of WNY and not use it for any other purpose.
Other than as provided in this privacy policy, RMHC of WNY does not sell, transfer, or disclose personal information to third parties.
RMHC of WNY reserves the right to use or disclose any information as needed to satisfy and comply with any law, regulation or legal request, to protect the integrity of the site, to fulfill your requests, or to cooperate in any law enforcement investigation or an investigation on a public safety matter.

If you want to unsubscribe from our email list, please use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our newsletter emails or contact us through the postal address listed below. It may take up to two weeks to remove you from all of our email newsletters if we have one in production when you request to be removed.

No Collection of Children’s Personal Information
This site is a general audience website that is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. We reserve the right to delete any information we believe violates this privacy policy.
Online Tracking / Do Not Track
We do not track our visitors across third-party websites to provide targeted advertising, and therefore, we do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, some third-party sites do keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. Social Media Platforms
Our website includes social media features, like a Facebook button for accessing the RMHC of WNY Facebook page. These features may collect information about your IP address and which page you’re visiting on our site, and they may set a cookie to ensure the feature functions properly. Social media features and widgets are hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our site. We also maintain a presence on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Any information, communications, or materials you submit to us via a social media platform is done at your own risk without any expectation of privacy. We cannot control the actions of other users of these platforms or the platforms themselves. The companies’ privacy policies govern your interactions with those features and platforms.

You understand that unauthorized parties may access electronic communications when communicated across the Internet, network communications facilities, or other electronic means. You agree that we are not responsible for any electronic communication and/or any of your data which may be lost, altered, intercepted, or stored without authorization during the transmission of any data across networks not owned and/or operated by us. We do not guarantee that your information will not be misused or disclosed to third parties. We will not be liable for any such misuse or disclosure.

Our servers and offices are located in the United States, so your information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the United States. While the data protection, privacy, and other laws of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in your country, we take many steps to protect your privacy, including offering a data processing agreement.
