25 Sep When I Stayed at RMH…Jana’s Story

I stayed at the Ronald McDonald House when I was 3 years old. My mommy and daddy say I was really sick and we stayed at the house so I could be close to my doctors. (Jana was diagnosed and treated for Leukemia – her treatment program lasted 3½ years.) I really don’t remember being sick, but I remember the Ronald McDonald House. We stayed at the house for almost 2 years. I remember our dress up days, sitting in the kitchen watching my mom cook and helping Miss Debbie and Miss Pat every Wednesday. I was their official stirrer and ingredient adder! I remember the playroom and all the fun I had and still have today.

I love when we visit the Ronald McDonald House especially going in costume at Halloween. Last year my sisters and I were all Minions and we had a pumpkin to match! A visit to the House is like going to Grandma’s – it’s always fun and full of love.
