Ronald McDonald Family Room

Located on the fifth floor of John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, our Ronald McDonald Family Room is a welcoming, home-like space for families to relax just steps from their children’s bedside. As visitors enter the room, they are greeted by our friendly RMHC of Western New York volunteers, who are ready to support you during this challenging time.

Visitors may grab complimentary snacks and beverages while they recharge and take a moment for themselves, all while staying close to their children’s bedside.

For the families’ convenience, the Ronald McDonald Family Laundry Room is just across the hall.

These offerings ensure that families have the comforts they need to feel at home while they focus on what matters most—the health and well-being of their loved ones.

Family Room Hours of Operation 

The Ronald McDonald Family Room at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital is open to welcome families during the following hours:

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

We warmly invite all families with hospitalized loved ones to visit our Family Room for complimentary beverages and snacks, which aim to provide a comforting break during their stay.

Family safety and well-being are our top priorities. We continue collaborating closely with our hospital partner, Kaleida Health, to ensure a safe and cozy environment for our families, staff, and volunteers.

Additionally, the Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart, our “little house on wheels,” visits patient floors on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, bringing a touch of comfort directly to patients’ bedside.   Keep scrolling for more information about this incredible program!

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room offers a range of complimentary amenities in a warm, home-like environment away from the beeps of the hospital setting.  Families will find:

Our Family Laundry

Located across the hall from our Ronald McDonald Family Room, our Family Laundry Room provides families with a space to wash their clothes or their child’s favorite blanket and toy.  Families will find:

• 24/7 Access to Laundry Room
• Complimentary Tide Pods

Ronald McDonald Hospitality Carts

Expanding our Signature Hospitality to the Bedsides of Hospitalized Children

A family with a seriously ill or injured child can spend long hours and many days at the hospital. At these times, simple comforts – a toothbrush, a cookie, or a toy to play with – can help to put a smile on their face.

Our Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart travels room to room through the pediatric floors at John R. Oshei Children’s Hospital, and through the Mother/Baby and NICU units at Sisters of Charity Hospital, offering patients and families complimentary beverages, snacks, and activities while enabling them to remain at their child’s bedside.

Since its inception, this program has provided support and care to more than 7,730 children and families.
